When designing for websites you need to decide how to address multiple screen sizes. While the majority of the US market has 1024x760 screens, many are moving towards wid screens and some still have the old stand by 800x600. While the larger screen makes things look small or might leave gaps in designs, smaller screens often have to scroll ALOT which can annoy users. There are HTML tricks you can use which offer a fluid size for graphics or you can plan for the smaller size while making sure the margins are covered to keep larger screen users happy. There are a couple open source template sites if you do a google search that might be helpful in deciding how to create templates. While you can't copy their HTML you can dig through and see how different designers handled the choices.
