I'd imagine if I ever decide to go with a VB forum I'd have to weight the intial costs versus long term costs against the income generated by the forum. If it makes more sense to buy a license instead of leasing one I'd go with that. Even if you have money to burn it just makes no sense to purchase something that doesn't fit your needs.
