MyBB the best free forums?

Those who are looking for free forums should really try it out. It's easy to skin and use, and is probably the closest to an IPB or vB I've seen in a free forum software.

Have your heard about Forumotion?
It's very easy to sign up, you simply need to provide the forum name, subdomain (what will appear in the URL), password, email address and the category of the forum. All of this takes around two minutes, after which you can choose the initial forum skin, then you are taken directly to your new forum.

Give it a try : create forum

Hope this can help!

So forumotion is a hosted forum? Do you have the software yourself to upload to your server or do you just have to work around the host?

It's a phpbb2/3 hosting site. Which is good if you just want a forum, but I prefer to use free software and install it on my server. An advantage of this is you may use your own domain name, also if you wanted (or know what your doing) you have all of the software file to customize further than just an admin panel.

Actually, I just may sign up to use Forumotion as a secondary forum as an experiment. It's free, and it looks pretty cool.

At the very least I feel it's worth a try, to see what I think of it.

Thanks for the link Ctonte, it is appreciated!

It might be worth a look. I have a free hosted site currently, a parenting group, and the hosting is terrible. It might be time to find something new.

Thanks for the link.

Though I generally like having it installed on my own server. Even though you don't get the free hosting, it gives you a lot more flexibility.

So I set up a forum with Forumotion a few days back, and so far I am pretty impressed.

Considering the thing is entirely free, I found the amount of options and flexibility to be very refreshing.

So far it seems to be about the best free forum host I have come across.
