Post count reducer prevention mod?

Talenak talked about a post count reducer prevention mod that she likes a lot.

Does anyone know where to find that mod? Is it free or paid for?

I think that would be most useful for all the boards i do.

Thanks in advance!

I have looked long and hard for this, even asking on the vbulletin forums. No one seems to know of the existence of one, so if you find one I will be very interested.

Lots of people have suggestions as to code hacks that would fix it, but someone else comes along and says it doesn't work.

What is a post count reducer prevention mod? It sounds a little confusing? Can you explain what it does?

With VBulletin, the post count is registered differently than on other forums. On others, your count is all posts you have ever made. On VB it is only posts that you have CURRENTLY on the forum.

That means that when a mod deletes a thread with posts of yours in it, your post count goes down. People want a mod to stop that.

Could you perhaps create a locked subforum and instead of deleting threads move them there? Then the threads would stay on the board but not be seen. I know we deal with some of our threads that way to keep from losing track of who started issues.

The reason people don't like the locked archive you suggested is because threads take up space on a forum. When you have a vast amount of data it can slow your forum down. So a mod that prevents the post count reduction is ideal for vb. It should be a built in option, but since it isn't, it's good to find that mod.

Awesome!
Thank you so much.

And yes it would be very helpful. The only other option, and what we have been doing is writing down everyones post counts and manually reputting that post count in. And that means doing the purge when the board is dead - about 2am.
