megabyte, thanks for your post and welcome to Forums Help. Adding a skin differs from one skin to another. And most of the skins have a Readme file that explains how install the skin.

thanks for the reply, that was fast...

just a little back ground.... I've been playing with vbulletin about 2 weeks and learning.... so i leaped out and trying a skin... i found element 3.6.1 and tried to install it. read the readme file. After going by the directions... placing the folder in the images folder. and going to the admin panel and puting in the other files. by the direction it should have worked. I'm still showing the default vbulletin.. at first the dir it made was element3.6.1, okay renamed it back to element hoping that would work... but back a square one... any help appreciated...

thanks

Ok here's the solution for the problem
All you have to do is:
1- Go to your admincp
2- Choose and expand "vBulletin Options" expandable list from the left side panel
3- Click on "vBulletin Options"
4- From the right side panel chose "Style & Language Settings" and click on the "Edit Settings" button.
5- In the "Style & Language Settings" page, go to the "Default Style" option and from the drop down menu, choose the skin you want to display as your default skin.
6- Save and that's it.

well, that means that you didn't install the .xml file. You have to install that file through your Download/Upload style. in the admincp.

I sorry mentioned that wrongly, just do that through upload/download style in the Styles tab.
