I see this posts to change fluid to fixed where ever I go, I was just wondering is there any advantage or something wrong with fluid or is it just a matter of choice.

This was answered before
fixed or fluid ?

It's totally a matter of choice, there are no major differences between fixed and fluid skins. But for skin designers, we mostly prefer fixed width skins as it gives us more chance for creativity. While fluid width skins make us loose a part of the design in making it expandable in order to have a fluid width skin.
