Databases requirements

Hi,

I have some questions, can you use any database for the system? or is it linked to only a few? I was thinking of MS SQLServer, as I am running that for something else.

you want to use the database with which forum.....i guess most of the PHP forums support MySQL. I am not sure about the MS SQL Server, and how much the SQL Server is reliable in terms of webhosting for Unix Flavor systems.

Seeing as you have posted this in the vbulletin section, at this time, vbulletin will only run on MySQL. Someone a long time back did do a re-write to allow it to run on PostgreSQL.

Vbulletin has a very busy forum, and they answer questions in the "presale" section very quickly. If you go to their site, you can find out almost anything you need to know before purchasing the software.
