Wink Clearing Out Members

Whenever I browse the Member List, I always see tons and tons of zero posts and people who haven't visited the site for months upon months.

Just an idea, but I think clearing some out would help the forum a bit. Whichever you choose.

The group that owns Forumshelp isn't the biggest fans of clearing out members. There are pros and cons to it but unless there is a real reason for removing the member then we likely will not be deleting anyone, but thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah no problem. I'm just used to a few forums clearing out 0 post members / very inactive members. Looks kinda bad for new people in a way - but the site seems to be doing so well that some zeros aren't hurting at all.

How many bytes does a username without a post usually take? If I'm not mistaken, this forum will be refurbished to as good as new and will the usernames be included in the clean-up?

In my honest opinion, I think the usernames should also be included in the clean-up and only the usernames with posts will be stored. That way, new visitors will have to see a members with posts and not so many members with no post at all.

It is really a toss up, there are the pros and there are the cons.....its like so we just keep it - just in case.

When the forum is a LOT more active, then it might be worth the time to look at the members list. Right NOW, it's a bad idea. Sometimes a random google search by someone trying to find something, will find a username, even with zero posts.

My suggestion is to ignore it, invite everyone you know, and when this forum isn't regaining it's feet, suggest it again

Then again though, sometimes it looks bad when you have a lot of members but not a great amount of activity.

We just don't know if these usernames will be active once the forum have been reorganized. Well, search engine spiders might check one of the usernames and may end up having this forum in the search engines.
