Forum For Free Forum Host Services

I just had an idea for this forum, having a section with forums each inside for the free services, like InvisionFree, Proboards, InvisionPowerBoardsFree, EZBoards, and any other board services.

It could make the site busier too!

I'd also like to note, I posted this in general chat - I didn't see this Suggestions forum so yeah, the link is here:

More of a Support / Suggestion Thread

So I guess you could delete that one or however you'd like it to work.

I think this could be very useful in having an overview over the different free forum hostings out there. I was thinking of using one some time back, just to start out. Then I thought, if the community became large and active, how would I montize on these forums?

Do most of them add advertisement on your forums? and are you allowed to add more if you want to?

Have anyone used any of these free forum hostings, as I would be interested in hearing what experiences you have.

There's so many people here that I think if this was actually done, it would make the site even bigger as I mentioned.

Yes they have Google advertisements. They usually are related to the forum topic, just as this site has links to advertisements.

My friend has one that unfortunately isn't going to well. The community doesn't really post that much anymore, but there was a thing that I did to make it more active, but unfortunately I haven't been on it for a while. Both of us regret it, but we hope to have the site up to an official site without the free services - have like vBulletin and such.

I suppose it's just a matter of now waiting for a response really.

The only problem with free forums in which I've been told many times is that people generally don't join free forums if that's the only part of the site because many people who use the free ones don't go back to them / keep working on them. They just build it, work on it for a while and get bored so they leave it. It's just like how many people make personal sites. They post information about themselves / family / friends / hobbies / other things and then tell a few people about the site. Then they put on the bottom that they'll add more information in the future - but they never do. I've seen so many of these things happen. Some of them look very promising and then they are just another thing that takes up space really.
