What I mean is if you were going to look for a site like yours what keywords would you type into google to find the site. Does your site come up with those keywords and if not you need to get your site tagged to those words. The best way to do that is through directory submissions

Definitely look into some link exchanges. They can work wonders if you find some decent ones and put some effort into them.

I was also reading a thread on the vBulletin forum the other day which suggested using the RSS feature to help with Google indexing. If you head over and do a quick search I'm sure you can find more information about that if you're interested. You must tell us how it works if you decide to try it.

I am not sure if RSS feeds would help a Google ranking. Google will penalize your site if you have duplicate content. I have been experimenting with RSS and it hasn't helped my page rank. It would be interesting if you could find a way to change the RSS enough to be unique to Google.

Yeah, the only way you're going to get more traffic is spread your link around, think of things that will make it unique, and build on your google rankings. Especially look for link exhanges. Yes some will be a waste of time, but every once in a while you'll get one that increases traffic to your site by a significant amount.

Do you offer any contests or incentives to your current uses for getting new users or making posts? Contests are great attention getters. People always like to get something for their time. And for a lot of people the knowledge they can gain from a forum, just isn't enough.

Maybe some freebies can help in maintaining and attracting posters. Forumshelp have free skins and it is still running until now.

You can put points system in posting and members can exchange those point into downloadable softwares. In addition to posting, you can add more points for members who successfully invited someone to join in the forum through referral links.
