I think that one of your other important jobs is deciding what rules for what subforums. You need to be clear and unambiguous with what goes and what does not belong on the forum because otherwise you will be facing many arguements down the line.

Rules, mediation, promoting activity, general housekeeping - these are the duties of an admin who is lucky. I learned what the duty of the admin is: Deleting forum bots! Yes, I do nothing else. Goodbye Xyz1234; nice knowing you. Dhfhrtrh, the pleasure was all yours, I assure you. Wowgoldlolz, you got the wrong MMO, friend. It's fun though. I turned on registration moderation, and I nip them in the bud before they even get to post. I even posted a FAQ for their benefit, so that the more intelligent forum spammer would know the clues I look for in a user profile in denying membership. They waged war with the wrong admin. I've got no life, and my wireless keyboard has new batteries.
