Smilies questions... - Forums Help - vBulletin, IPB, phpBB, SMF skins and community

Ive noticed on this site the smilies always show at random. Its not always the same smilies on advanced reply. How do you make them show random ?

Also is there a mod / hack to organize them better. To have them broken down into catagories ? Like all "angry" smilies... all "happy" smilies show in the same area ?

Hey Kevin

Smilies appear randomly in vb by default but they are not in doing so in your forum because you don't have much smilies, so vb shows them all when posting a new thread or when replying to other threads. But when you have more smilies, vb will start to show them randomly as the smilies area won't be enough to show them all.
As for the smilies categories, you can always do it through your admincp, by going to the "Smilies" tab and then chose "Smilie Manager". Then in the right panel, at the bottom of the "Edit Smilie Categories" box, you will find two options, one of them is "Add New Smilie Category", that's the place where you can add more categories and organise smilies.

Me, as well. I hate having to remember all of the BBcodes for my favorite grins, and I almost never get all of the smileys I want to show up. It's like a slot machine or something for me. heh.
