Does anyone know when the original version of VBulletin was released?

The copywrite for the software reads 2000-2007, but I pretty sure it was around back in like 1998.

Can anyone help me clarify this?

I have been bothered by this for the longest time.

I am not sure when it was first released, but the first time I used VB was around 2001.

Things were already getting fairly advanced by that point, so i'm thinking it was originally created around 1998 or 1999.

Maybe that 2000 copywrite was used to mark when the first non-beta release came out?

Well after trying to do some research, I still don't have a completely satisfactory answer.

Until I do, i'm gonna have to keep looking and asking everywhere. This isn't even that big of an issue, it's just something I have been wondering for a very long time.
