favourite forum host?

Which forum host is your favorite? Is it free? If not, how much did it cost? What are some of the services or features? Would you recommend it to beginners? Which forum hosts do you NOT recommend?

I have never used anything that was specifically a forum host. Can you please explain a little about this type of service?

I just always used hosts and installed my own forums.

Thats what I am talking about. A host, it doesn't have to be just a forum host. To me anyways a forum host is a web host who only supports forums. Some that I know are Proboards and Forumer. I just want to know if there are any other sites like them out there.

There quite a number of good free forum hosts out there, and i'm going to share some links to some of the better ones when I have the chance. Some of the services offer a large amount of features and customization, while some others are rather limited and frustrating.

Lemme see if I can find some of my links, and I will get back to ya ASAP.

I have never used a free host for my forums. I don't trust anything that I don't have FULL access on. I own 3 reseller accounts (kinda test them to decide the best) and I host all my 20 sites there and the projects my clients have. My forums are hosted there and it;s a good idea for me to be able to admin them to the fullest

Yeah I know what you mean now. I decided to spend some of my holiday money on a web host and domain. Now I am so happy with the service I get. I don't want to say what my site is because it's still in the making. I am hosted by hostican.com

I have had forums hosted both at free and pay hosts, and some of the free hosts were very close to pay quality. Really it all depends on the host in question, and what exactly you are expecting out of it.

Just because something is pay does not make it automatically good, or better than a good free host.
